Donnetta Walser verbally spanked in email

August 19th, 2008

I obtained the following email string between Councilman Mitch Ruth and Mayor Donnetta Walser today and thought I’d share it. In the email, Donnetta Walser has a tizzy fit about a Councilman asking Senator Val Stevens to help the City of Monroe on an issue that the Mayor was not able to get done. Like America? Then put up with the politics.

August 7th, 2008

Somebody really upset me today. Not personally, but morally, in an it’s-the-principle-of-the-thing sort of way. Read the rest of this entry »

“Nihilists attack Olympia Councilmember”

July 10th, 2008

I read an article today about a group of self-identified “nihilists” who tossed a bunch of paint-filled light bulbs at an Olympia City Councilman and his business in protest over one of his political positions.

The stupidity of the controversy aside, I can’t help but howl at the stupidity of their affiliation. For a political activist to claim nihilism as their philosophy is self-contradictory. Read the rest of this entry »

Butt Scratching and Bass Fishing

June 26th, 2008

June 23rd, 2008

I just read a post on a website run by the 39th District GOP that says the Democrat leadership has been paying Fred Walser (husband of Monroe Mayor Donnetta Walser) to run for office, even though he was just found guilty of obstructing an investigation and sentenced for it. Of ants, sugar bowls and tenacity.

June 21st, 2008

“What makes some men try to reach for the sky, and find the heights unsurpassed? What makes one horse run and race with the sun, while others won’t last?”

A songwriter I know wrote those words in one of the most inspirational bits of poetry I’ve ever experienced. “Great men are dreamers,” she said. “Who see what we can be and not what we are.” Read the rest of this entry »

Performing Arts Center in Monroe?

June 16th, 2008

I’m all for it in theory. The only challenge is the location, how much it will cost, who will pay for it, and who will keep paying for its maintenance and operations? Okay that’s four questions.

The article in the Herald today refers to a movement under way to get a performing arts center here in Monroe. Read the rest of this entry »

My daughter the golfer…can anyone say “scholarship?”

June 13th, 2008

Full-ride golf scholarship to Stanford, that’s my plan. My four-year old is nuts about golf. She’s also nuts about Princesses and the color pink, which is how she became obsessed with golf… Read the rest of this entry »
