Democrats blasted for funding criminals to run for office
I just read a post on a website run by the 39th District GOP that says the Democrat leadership has been paying Fred Walser (husband of Monroe Mayor Donnetta Walser) to run for office, even though he was just found guilty of obstructing an investigation and sentenced for it.
The blog post says they’ve been paying his medical insurance and just cut him a huge check for his campaign.
What is going on with the Democrat party? Their inability to feel any kind of remorse for the behavior of their candidates and party members reminds me of the words of the ancient Hebrew writer Jeremiah, who said “you have a whore’s forhead, you cannot blush with shame.”
The GOP in Congress had these troubles in recent years where a lack of morality and ethics caused them to lose major percentages of their base. But the state Republicans have done a good job of weeding out bad apples when they find them. Rep. Jim Dunn, Rep. Richard Curtis, and Rep. Shirley Hankins are all good examples of this. In these cases, GOP leadership asked them to resign, stripped them of committees, asked them not to run for re-election and even recruited primary opponents against them if they chose to run anyway.
The Democrats should follow their lead, but I fear the Democrat’s culture of corruption will continue until the voters punish them in the same way they rightfully punished the GOP.

So is that true? Are the Democrats paying his personal medical insurance? How do you know? How much did they give him for his campaign?

SkyRiv: go to the link at the top of this post. There are links there to the PDC web site with the filings that show it. All the info you need is there.
Specifically, on May 31, 2008, they gave Walser GroupHealth insurance (for April and May) valued at $547.50.
And in addition, they gave him $10,000 in cash for his campaign.

So, Chad-boy. How is this different from yesterday. The Dim-o-crats have always sided with corruption, and those who flout the law.
Thanks for pointing this out. It confirms my resistance to give any money to any “party” apparatus, and instead, give directly to candidates.
Oh, and even though I am pretty conservative, my contributions this year have all gone to the aforementioned Dims. Personal friends, and single issue advocacy.

Geez,
Good luck finding a clean Democrat.
